Micro Top Application Procedure
Starpatch Micro Topping is an ultra high bond, abrasion resistant, durable
cement based decorative topping. It is formulated to resurface existing
concrete, accept integral colours, acid stains and retooling and burnishing
techniques. Starpatch Micro Topping is a fluid two-component compound that can
be easily placed.
The photos show the application procedures and also a sample of the finished
product.

 1) The clean
concrete substrate is primed prior to application. |
 2) The product
is mixed with a drill and paddle mixer, color can be added as desired, and then
poured onto the floor. |
 3) A gauge rake
is used to distribute the product evenly.

 4) Using spiked
shoes re-trowel the floor once it has been gauged to the desired thickness. |
 5) Let cure for
24hrs prior to foot traffic.

 6) Additional
treatments can occur after the initial curing period. This floor is being saw
cut with a border and tiles 24" by 24". When doing saw cuts always measure out
from the middle of the room. |

After saw cutting the floor is lightly sanded with a 100grit sanding disc. This
process will help expose the true floor color. |
 8) The floor
can now be acid stained. Be sure to tape all areas properly to protect unstained
areas.

 9) Multiply
layers of various colors of stain are being applied on this project. |
 10) The saw
cuts are being filled with tile grout. Prior to grouting a sealer needs to be
applied to prevent the grout from staining the floor. |
 11) The grout
is cleaned immediately after application. |
 12) A black
border was added to highlight the acid stain. |
