Micro Top Application Procedure

Starpatch Micro Topping is an ultra high bond, abrasion resistant, durable cement based decorative topping. It is formulated to resurface existing concrete, accept integral colours, acid stains and retooling and burnishing techniques. Starpatch Micro Topping is a fluid two-component compound that can be easily placed.

The photos show the application procedures and also a sample of the finished product.

1) The clean concrete substrate is primed prior to application.

2) The product is mixed with a drill and paddle mixer, color can be added as desired, and then poured onto the floor.

3) A gauge rake is used to distribute the product evenly.

7)  ) After saw cutting the floor is lightly sanded with a 100grit sanding disc. This process will help expose the true floor color.

8) The floor can now be acid stained. Be sure to tape all areas properly to protect unstained areas.

9) Multiply layers of various colors of stain are being applied on this project.

10) The saw cuts are being filled with tile grout. Prior to grouting a sealer needs to be applied to prevent the grout from staining the floor.
